Safe Chemical Handling
Chemicals such as animal medicines, sprays, fertilisers, oils, disinfectants and dairy detergents can pose considerable risk to farmers. Approved training as a Professional User in pesticide application should be undertaken before using such chemicals. Always use the recommended personal protective equipment when dealing with chemicals.
All chemical containers should be correctly labelled. All chemicals should be kept in locked stores and out of the reach of children. Chemicals need to be used correctly to protect your health and safety. Before using a chemical product, carefully read the information on the product label and safety data sheet and put this information into practice.
