Making a business insurance claim

In the event of damage to your property:

• You should take any reasonable steps to prevent further loss.
• Notify FBD immediately. Contact at 1890 953 953.
• It is important to note that you should not go ahead with repairs (other than emergency repairs to limit damage) prior to our approval.
• Please do not dispose of any damaged articles before we have had an opportunity of examining them ourselves, or without our approval as your loss will need to be evidenced.
• Depending on the type of claim and value involved we may;
  
  a) contact you by telephone to progress your claim.
  
  b) arrange for one of our In-House Claims Appraisers to personally call on you.
  
  c) appoint an independent Loss Adjuster to deal with your claim on our behalf.

In the event of a non motor accident:

• Do not admit liability for the accident. Notify FBD immediately. Contact at 1890 953 953.
• Ascertain if anyone has been injured and call emergency services if necessary.
• Obtain names and addresses of all relevant persons, including witnesses.
• Keep a record of all injuries and damage sustained and draw a sketch map of the scene. Take photos of the incident scene if you can. Retain any items or material relevant to the alleged accident.
• All correspondence regarding the accident should be sent, unanswered, to FBD INSURANCE plc.
• Notice of any prosecutions should also be sent to FBD INSURANCE plc.
